There comes a time in every man’s life when he discovers something he always denied to himself.

In this case, I can deny it no longer:

For a social media marketer, I sure am anti-social.

So yeah. I avoid places with a lot of strangers, and given the choice between a crowded room and one with my laptop and some soda, I would always choose the latter.

But hey, I believe that for someone to succeed and be truly happy, he must go outside of his comfort zone. That’s right, folks. I’m going out there, all socially-awkward penguin-like and I’ll be networking – and where else do I start this “outing” if not in the far and wonderful land of Cebu?!

I’m honestly excited.

This is the first time I’ll be going alone. It’s like me trying to find myself in some far away land or or or like me, a traveler, in a constant search of adventure, romance and love in a hopeless place.

Okay, before I get carried away, it really is about me going to the Digital Influencers Summit on November 24, 2012. I’m excited to meet people in the industry, get to share and learn new ideas and, just for the heck of it, be open to other people.

I mean, I don’t want to be an isolationist anymore. It’s too sad and at the end of the day, it’s going to help me help other people with our businesses.

Here are a few things you can expect for the Digital Influencers Summit in Cebu:

1. New learnings! It’s always awesome to learn new stuff. Not only do we discover new ways to make our business do better, we also get to learn new stuff in ourselves.

2. Awesome speakers. To be honest, I’ve always thought I was the real deal (talk about a Napoleon Complex). But now, I’ve come to accept that there are other people who know waaaay more better than I do. And quite frankly, I don’t need to compete with them. And that is why, as a token of my acceptance of this fact, I am going to this Summit – Because I want to learn these new things.

To help my customers, my audience. To help my business. And to help the people who’ve helped me.

3. Passionate bloggers, awesome Internet marketers, and lots and lots of other Internet people!

Also, I’ve always wanted to taste Cebu Lechon – the absolute best roasted pig this side of the Milky Way. So yeap. I’m packing my things, getting ready to go. Looking for a good promo where I’m about to go.

Just a thought, I can also cross-out an item in my bucket list:

Sing Les Miserables‘ “On My Own” out in some random city’s streets! Oh God, this will be so awesome!

Now where do I get raggedy clothes and a willing girl that I can dedicate the song to?
