“The voice you’ve chosen to listen to is one of defiance.
A voice that’s says there was a reason you set that alarm in the first place. So sit up, put your feet on the floor, and don’t look back because we’ve got work to do.”
Welcome to The Grind
A lot of people are telling me that my story’s inspiring and that I’ve lost a lot of weight and that it’s great that I’m undergoing this journey. I’m glad I’m able to inspire and get people to realize that they can do it.
What most do not see, however, is the amount of work and resistance that comes into this. Admittedly, while it made me feel awesome and proud, coming off of SubIT made me feel relatively tired and in sore need of rest.
Lo and Behold, I signed up for Regent 5150 a week after and, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t know what came over me. I guess I really just wanted to push myself and know myself better.
“But this is no time to dwell on how far you’ve come. You’re in a fight against an opponent you can’t see”
One thing I noticed was that I started to perform a little sub par after SubIT. I felt some aches and pains here and there, plus I got sick for a bit.
“When you feel so out of it is precisely the time for you to keep pushing.” Feeling so out of tune for the past few days but that’s definitely not an excuse to perform subpar. It’s infuriating and demoralizing but I guess it happens to everyone. Time to nut up or shut up, Carlo. #TriathlonGoals #KutisKahoy #TibayKamagong #Training
So I took a few days off and, now that it’s Peak Week for the Regent race, I’m not sure if I’m rushing or ramming to perform or if I’m just really anxious.
“Drown out the voice of uncertainty with the sound of your own heartbeat,
Burn away your self doubt with the fire that’s beneath you,
Remember what you’re fighting for“
Either way, I signed up to perform and improve, so I guess this is pretty much the perfect time to see if I did. If I perform better than before, than I would’ve affirmed that I have improved. If not, I now know what steps to take (and which ones not to) in order to become better and stronger.
Either way, I’m nutting up and sucking it up.
Either way, I’m where I want to be
Either way, I win.
